Watergos Wizards

Good afternoon all, Visual Collective is coming to you from Byron Bay.

After chasing the bulk of the swell from ex tropical cyclone Uesi on Saturday, I headed south to Byron Bay to see what was left of it and catch up with some good friends from the Sunshine Coast and watch them compete in the Wategos Wizards invitational surf comp.

Unfortunately the majority of the swell had moved south, but Wategos and The Pass still had a few 2-3 ft waves on the points giving the competitors plenty of waves to work with.

Although Alex “Cuts Doloro ” didn’t get the result we were all hoping for ( to become a honorary Byron Wizard ) he still got some long rides to make the trip south worth it. Check out his signature fins at http://www.thesaltymerchants.com/log-fins/dork3

It was a fun day out watching some of the best local and international long boarders doing their thing and kudos to the promoters for putting on a great comp and supplying us with free Kombucha and snags……legends.

The waves are decreasing slightly tomorrow into the 2ft range with a slight bump in swell for the weekend.
