Single Fin

Good afternoon all, Visual Collective is coming to you from Burleigh Heads.

The 23rd annual Burleigh Heads Board Riders Single Fin competition kicked off over the weekend in below average waves, with Saturday’s conditions testing for the surfers with only 1-2 ft onshore swell. This didn’t stop them showing us what can be done on a single fin in small conditions.

Some big names old and new came out to compete, with Parko, Occy, Luke Egan and Margo to name a few.

Fortunately the swell increased today and the winds went offshore for the final, making for some clean faces and long rides.

It was great to check out the old school boards on display thanks to the Surfing Museum in Currumbin and watch the pros and locals put them through their paces.

Congrats to Dimity Stoyle who took out the women’s division, Mark ‘Occy’ Occhilupo for taking out the Heritage Heat, Ty Richo for taking out the Under 18 and to Ethan Ewing for taking out the Open division.

The waves are increasing slightly tomorrow into the 2-3ft range and continue to increase into next week with decent winds to match.

If I’ve captured you in any images, please feel free to get in touch for a photo.

Have a great Sunday all, VC
