Postcards From Australia

I have just received my copy of Australian Geographic’s “Postcards From Australia” Coffee table book.
I was asked to supply five of the six images used on the front and back cover, and images in the book.
It’s full of great photography from Australia’s diverse landscapes, covering all states, from the red centre to the reef.

International Epson Pano Awards 2013

I’m happy to announce I’ve been awarded two Silver and two bronze in this years Open category of the Epson International Pano Awards.

Uluru 2013

I’ve recently returned from my first trip to the Red Centre with good mate Beau Mitchell, despite a broken shutter finger, I still managed to come home with a few images I’m happy with.

We had a mix of weather over the week we were there, ranging from rain over the rock, (which I heard was quite rare), a few days of complete cloud cover, rainbows and a few great sunrises, we kept busy every day.

Our home for the week, Yulgara is a nice township, with great coffee, an IGA, with reasonably priced supplies , Shell station , a well kept camp ground and only a 5 minutes drive to the park gates, a great place to base yourself while visiting the rock.

Following the rules of the park, each image needs to be approved before being able to be displayed for purchase, but here’s a few snaps prior.

Thanks SB

Nothing Like Australia 03/10/11

Great news, I’ve placed second in last week’s “There’s Nothing Like Australia” competition.
I get to fly down to the Barossa Valley for an all expenses paid, few days of food, wine and indulgence, which will be tough. I might even sneak in a few shoots, while down there.
Also a mention in the Sunshine Coast Daily, with a write up and my winning image.

I will have some new images of my last trip up shortly as well. Cheers SB

Wow! what a trip we’ve had. Over 12,000km of Australia’s diverse landscapes and many bone shaking roads. Only a few mechanical problems and nearly double our fuel budget, we have arrived safely back on the Sunshine Coast.

The highlights from the trip have been Karijini National Park, it’s an absolute photographers dream with Spinifex covered ranges, stunning water carved gorges and waterfalls.
Ningaloo Reef for its vibrant reef and crystal clear water, Purnululu National Park (Bungle Bungles) for its unique landscapes, the thermal cascades and hidden waterfalls of El Questro on the Gibb River Road and Tropical North Queensland where the rainforest meets the reef.

With just enough film for the trip I managed to shoot all 130 rolls of Velvia 50, (which will keep the lab happy), they will have to be processed, scanned and edited, so keep an eye out for new releases in the coming months.

Heading Home 05/7/11

After a long hot summer in Perth and photographing some of Western Australia’s unique landscapes, the Jeeps loaded and we’re hitting the road again, making our way back to Queensland.
This time we’re traveling north and completing our trip around Australia. We will be stopping at some amazing locations along the way, including Karijini, Broome, Kimberley’s, Darwin, Uluru and Cairns. With many kilometers, early mornings and outback camping, were hoping for some great light and new images for the collection.
I’ll be updating our travels via Facebook and Twitter, so if you haven’t already please sign-up and be kept up to date with our travels, specials and new print releases.
Cheers SB
